The best Bluetooth headset for truck drivers is the one that you don’t know is there when you are wearing it. I’ve tried many of these things and some have become uncomfortable after a while.
Some of them have given me a sore ear or a sore spot on my head opposite the earpiece side.
Quality is another issue. One of my favorite headsets – the most comfortable one – the microphone stopped working all of the sudden.
My budget headset would not connect or stay connected to my phone.
What good is having a hands free driving Bluetooth headset if you cant answer a call with it or someone can’t hear you through the microphone.

Best Bluetooth Headset for truck drivers – top five must haves
- comfort
- loud and clear volume
- easy to connect and stays connected
- durable – trucker tough
- good noise cancelling microphone
Comfort
The most comfortable Bluetooth headset for me was the Blue Tiger Elite I loved that way that thing felt over my ear.
I did get a little sore on the other side of my head from the headband after wearing it for a long time.
There is only a thin amount of foam padding on the flat “T” and the end of the headband.
The deal killer for the Blue Tiger is the quality. The microphone stopped working no long after I bought mine.
The over the ear Blue Parrot has good padding however if you have long hair your gets stuck on the mic swivel.
My Pick for comfort is the Voyager 104 the padding is thick and the headset weight is well balanced. The electronics or guts are in the “T” opposite the earpiece. This is why there is a wire exposed to feed the earpiece form the other side of the headband.
Loud and clear volume
The Blue Tiger had amazing and amazing sound on both ends when it was working.
The blue parrot headsets have a nice loud and clear volume.
The only complaint I’ve heard a few times about the Voyager 104 is the volume level is too low. I am hoping this can be adjusted by tweaking the phone’s settings.
Easy to connect and stays connected
All three headsets on my list did this well.
My budget amazon headset is the only one that gave me trouble here.
Durable – trucker tough
This is where the Blue Tiger failed the microphone stopped working not long after I got mine. I’ve been meaning to take it apart and see if there is a metal contact plate where the microphone swivels on the earpiece. This could be an easy fix who knows.
I never got this far with the cheap headset.
The Voyager 104 looks indestructible – I’ll report back on this one.
good noise cancelling microphone
Again the Blue Tiger scored well here too.
The Voyager 104 tests excellent here too.
If you have not guessed by now my pick for the Best Bluetooth Headset for truck drivers is the Plantronics Voyager 104 followed by the Blue Parrot headsets.
Both brands work well, are high quality and durable. For me the Voyager won because of comfort.
